In 1976 CNR produced a short film which presented the single electron interference experiment. Along with the scientists responsible for its realization, (Pier Giorgio Merli, Gian Franco Missiroli, and Giulio Pozzi) the screen rendering saw the collaboration on the script by Dario Nobili (at the time Research Director of the LAMEL-CNR Institute) and the movie direction by Lucio Morettini, responsible for the Scientific Movie Department of the CNR.
The film was awarded the first prize in the Physics secion of the VII Scientific and Technical Cinema Festival held in Bruxelles in 1976. In 2004 it was inserted in the DVD containing the italian edition of the movies from PSSC (Zanichelli Publisher, Bologna).
In march, 2008, all the scientific films produced by the Dept. of Scientific Cinematography in the time span 1976-1996, belonging to a fund devoted to the memory of the late Lucio Morettini, were deposited at the Cineteca di Bologna, a prestigious institution known the world over for the acitivity of conservation, restoration, and fostering of both national and international cinematographic heritage.
